View the Proposed Lake County Board District Map

See the map and provide comments online through November 24

Every 10 years, the U.S. Constitution requires that the population of the United States be counted.  Once complete, the results are used to adjust or redraw districts based on where populations have increased or decreased.  This process is called reapportionment (also known as redistricting).  Reapportionment consists of redrawing district boundary lines based on the census data to ensure that each County Board district includes approximately the same number of residents.

The community is invited to view a newly proposed 19-member Lake County Board district map and provide comments online through Nov. 24, 2021. The online map is interactive, allowing the public to zoom in on specific areas. The public may also call the Lake County Communications Division telephone line at 847-377-2550 to provide their input by leaving a message.

For those without internet access, the proposed map is available for viewing at:

  • Lake County Administrative Building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan

  • Lake County Central Permit Facility, 500 W. Winchester Rd, Libertyville

  • Lake County Forest Preserves General Offices, 1899 W. Winchester Road, Libertyville

A computer kiosk is also provided for public comment at the Lake County Administrative Building, 18 N. County St., Waukegan.

The Lake County Reapportionment Committee will convene on Nov. 30 to discuss the proposed map and review public comments. State law requires that the County Board approve an updated district boundary map no later than Dec. 31, 2021.
